Most people know Herbert Lefering just as Herbi. He is know working in the IT Business for about 16 years. He started at Tobit Software in Germany (Headquarter of Tobit) and build up the whole indirect channel for Tobit. He was responsible for resellers, distributors and OEM partners. In the beginning of Tobit Software there was a close relationship to Novell, because the first products of Tobit were only supporting Novell NetWare. Herbert was also deeply involved in bundling Tobit FaxWare with the NetWare Small Business Server some years ago.

After leaving Tobit he joined GWAVA, which is the biggest 3rd party vendor for GroupWise Add On products. From Germany Herbert and his team are responsible for all EMEA activities of GWAVA. His focus is sales, sales, sales without any technical background.

 

Besides his job he has founded in beginning of 2005 GroupWise & Friends, the german speaking GroupWise community. After only a few months G&F was already the biggest GroupWise community in EMEA with now over 500 members and total more then 3.000 GroupWise contacts overall, which integrates into GroupWiseR activities. Herbi is also working very close together with Erno de Korte and Paul van de Cruyssen on several other GroupWiseR initiatives (e.g. GroupWiseR tour, summits, Open Horizon magazin, surveys, GroupWise @ home project...).

 

He is the (happy) father of one girl (Hannah,  born 2000) and one boy (Christopher, born 2003). His hobbies are Football, BBQ, Beer (prefered german or czech) Skate, Action Movies, GroupWise & Friends and GroupWiseR/Open Horizons.
