The GroupWiseR initiative connects a group of very active GroupWise enthusiasts all over EMEA and this community is working together to promote GroupWise and GroupWise related solutions. GroupWiseR shares a wealth of GroupWise information by organizing several interesting events, both at a local level and at an EMEA level. Diethmar Rimser - Austria
Diethmar has been working with NetWare V4.6 which was running on a Motorola 68000 Diethmar Rimser reveals his long relationship with Novell products (1985). Since 1994 he was teaching NetWare, NMS (predecessor of ManageWise and ZEN for Servers), Networking Technologies.  In 1995 Diethmar started to teach Microsoft NT Workstation and Server (it is always good to know both sides). In 1996 Diethmar put his fingers on GroupWise 5 - and he had to stop teaching any other products because of the success of GroupWise. His main business is now GroupWise - doing almost everything if only GroupWise is mentioned.

Johan reports directly to Volker Smid, President of Novell EMEA.
 
Paul van der Cruyssen - Belgium
Ten years ago . Paul Van der Cruyssen had to install his first e-mail system, and it was ... GroupWise. Love at first sight! After this installion he installed, migrated and supported small and big groupware systems. Paul works as a consultant at QualIT. As a true believer he installed the first GroupWise on Linux in Belgium. If there's time, then Paul is also active as a beta tester (iFolder, ZENworks, GroupWise).
 
Peter Dens - Belgium
Peter Dens is owner and founder of Kangaroot Linux Solutions, a Linux & Open Source consultancy company in Antwerp. He has been involved in numerous workgroups to voice the presence of Linux & Open Source in the Belgian enterprise world, including work as a spokesperson for Ouverture in numerous debates. With the arrival of Groupwise on Linux, his wish for an enterprise-class groupware solution on Linux became reality, and Peter has been an active Groupwise advocate since then.
 
Renato Pioker - Brasil
Renato is a Brazilian GW enthusiast. He has joined the GroupWise World recently, introducting the Groupware concepts at his work, changing corporate processes and rules. The GW project at his company is actually going from phase 1 to phase 2 (3 phases total), and Renato is proud to be the 1st Brazilian on this list!

Svetlin has been a speaker at many Novell BrainShares, GWAVACons and GroupWise EMEA Summits. He’s also the most well-known GroupWise expert in his home country and leads the local GroupWise community.

Paul Lamontagne - Canada
Paul has been Novell certified since 1996 and currently holds 15 Novell certifications, including Certified Novell Engineer and Certified Novell Instructor. Paul is Novell Business Partner primarily focused on delivering consulting services, Novell-centric solutions and training. Paul has trained in both North America and Europe. He is fluent in English and French, and regularly instructs Novell ATT’s in both languages. Paul has become well know for his expertise in Network design and GroupWise.

Before founding the Messaging Architects, Pierre worked as a Director of Product Management for Philips Electronics and was the President of ChronoFax, which developed Fax Messaging software. ChronoFax changed its name to Messaging Architects in 2001 to better reflect its mission of helping GroupWise users leverage and extend the investment they've made in their Messaging & Collaboration systems.

Willem Bagchus is the President of Saturnus and very passionate about GroupWise. He has worked at the company since 1975 and over the years introduced new products and services. Vaclav Samsa - Czech Republic
Vaclav has been working with Novell Inc and WordPerfect Corporation products since 1987 till today, started with NetWare ELS II and WordPerfect 4.2. Vaclav was programmer in the past, working with Fortran, C, C++, lot of assemblers, TurboPascal, lot of scripting languages. Vaclav's today focus is on GroupWise on PDA, OpenOffice-GroupWise integration, remote GroupWise management, optimizing number of MTA and POA within large WAN networks. Vaclav is founder and co-owner of TDP Ltd, established in 1989 as Trade Mark for software developing and exists from 1992 as Ltd company.
 
Martin Gondek - Czech Republic
I became familiar with Novell products about 7 years ago. I started with Netware 4.1. My first experience with Groupwise was with version 5.5. At present I am employed as a chief technician at TDP Ltd. and usually work with Groupwise 6.5.

Kenneth has been working with Novell products since 1991, first major task was migration from Netware 3.12 to Netware 5.0/1. His preference is definitely Netware, with the Linux platform as a recent second. Tommy Mikkelsen - Denmark
Tommy Mikkelsen has been working with Novell products for over 12 years. Tommy is the former President of NUI Denmark He works with ZENworks, BorderManager, and GroupWise, as well as Netware and eDirectory. Tommy is both a Novell Support Forum SysOp, as well as a Novell Developer Forum SysOp.

Tapio Nurmi - Finland
Tapio started in 1988 at KONE corporation as a trainer in several computer skills. In 1996 he started his own IT-training and consulting company "Pedactiv Oy". He's servicing many middle-sized and big Finnish and multinational companies, city and commune councils as well as several educational institutions Tapio has created several very usable Hands-On Cards and Guides for Groupwise, Exchange Outlook and others products used by his customers. Tomi Moberg - Finland
Tomi Moberg is the president of NUCF, Novell User Club of Finland. The NUCF works closely with Novell Finland to organize several interesting events every year, including the famous NUCF cruise.

Jean-Luc Le Doledec - France
Jean-Luc is the founder of GALOS RSSI. He works with Novell since 1988 (Version 2.0 of Netware), and with GroupWise since the version 4.1. He works with Exchange too, but his preferred product is GROUPWISE.
 
Laurent Choquet - France
Laurent has been CNE and CNI for more than 12 years. He has participated in many events for Novell France Formations Techniques ATT, road-shows and has a great expertise on high availibity solutions.
 
Marlyse Eyike - France
Marlyse is part of the Corporate Localization team within Novell's Globalization Services as a Language Specialist.  Based in Paris, France, she has been with Novell since 2000 and so has worked on many GroupWise versions and all Novell's product localization in that time.  Along with Arturo Aguilar, Marlyse is an expert in all things linguistic and is a joint custodian of Novell's language quality and improvement.  She manages terminology andquality for all locales and products but background-specifically, is Novell's expert for the French markets.
 
Axel Amelung - Germany
Axel is Managing Director of comm.world collaboration GmbH, a SiteScape and Novell partner. He has been working successfully with SiteScape collaboration solutions for more than 5 years, and is engaged in ICEcore development as the foundation of Novell Teaming + Conferencing. Consequently, he's very active in the Teaming + Conferencing field with training, customizations and support.
 
Axel is a computer scientist with more than 15 years of experience in the ITC sector and has been working with Philips, Deutsche Telekom and Cycos.
 
Chris Nevener - Germany
Chris is an American who has lived and worked in Germany since 1988, and runs a successful Novell Business Partner and Novell Training Partnership. He has been heavily involved as a BrainShare Speaker for the last 4 years, and has written and edited numerous books surrounding network technology. Chris is currently the Chairman of the Novell Worldwide Certification Advisory council, and as a MCNE (x4) and MCNI contributes to the Novell Vanguard.

Herbert Lefering - Germany
Most people know Herbert Lefering just as Herbi. He is know working in the IT Business for about 16 years. He started at Tobit Software in Germany (Headquarter of Tobit) and build up the whole indirect channel for Tobit. He was responsible for resellers, distributors and OEM partners. In the beginning of Tobit Software there was a close relationship to Novell, because the first products of Tobit were only supporting Novell NetWare. Herbert was also deeply involved in bundling Tobit FaxWare with the NetWare Small Business Server some years ago.

Marc Conradty - Germany
Marc is Chief Technical Officer of Inetra Inc. Germany. As CTO, Marc is responsible for team training and all German speaking support for GWAVA and Inetra customers. Marc specializes in working with Smartblocker for squeezing the last false positive email out of the GWAVA Archive. Marc has been working in the email industry since 1990, and began with MHS from Novell. Marc has been working since then as a consultant in planning, developing, and deploying networks. Marc is consulting IT departments in deploying and fine tuning GroupWise and GWAVA. Michael is Chief Operating Officer of Maintainet AG, Germany. Maintainet is a Novell Platinum Partner in EMEA with offices in the Middle East and Germany. Maintainet has also  become the exclusive GWAVA distibutor for the Middle East in 2005. The company's core competences are in the IDM and - of course - GroupWise sector.

Having worked for SilverStream, Novell bought "me" 2,5 years ago - and, I am still there....based in Munich, I am concentrating on channel and alliances marketing in Germany, Switzerland and Austria now, but with a focus on base and Linux products and therefore on GroupWise and the Usergroups.
 
Tatjana Nevener - Germany
Networkingpartner is a Novell Business Partner Training Provider, IBM Business Partner, CA Business Partner, TMA Distributor Tatjana is a well known facilitator of GroupWare Migrations. She regularly organizes migrations to GroupWise for some of Novell's most exciting customers. She maintains a position on the Board of Directors for Novell Users International, as well as a current CNS Qualification and is IBM e-Business certified. She is also responsible for the relationship management for all of Networkingpartner GmbH's customers.

Ulrich Neumann - Germany
Ulrich's first contact with GroupWise was in the days of WordPerfect Office 3.1. He has seen all versions since these days, he has implemented many GroupWise systems and he has been developing to GroupWise since 1998. Ulrich is also a Novell SysOp and works very closely with some engineering groups in Provo. He has written several articles for Novell Appnotes in the past. Ulrich is the brain behind Redline. a Monitoring, Reporting, Alerting solution for GroupWise.

Uwe Krause - Germany
Uwe became a Engineer of Network Technologie in 1992 startet in the Business in Novell Enviroments in 1993. Befor he was an untrained Admin for the University Netware 2.15 and 3.11 Network. In 1997 he became a CNI. Uwe is currently certified as multiple MCNE and MCNI. Expirences in Notes and Exchange as well as some fundamental knowledge in Windows OS helped him to fullfill several projects in migrating Notes and Exchange to groupWise. He started to work with Groupwise in the early 1994.

In the year 2000 and latest in 2003 the N-iX team presented solutions, like  the NetWare client for Linux (LNC) and the Java based GroupWise client . Anne McCluskey - Ireland
Anne is 'Corporate Localization Manager' for Novell, based in Dublin, Ireland and works within the 'Globalization Services' group. Anne's team (see also Arturo Aguilar and Marlyse Eyike on this page) is responsible for ensuring linguistic quality in all Novell products and supporting content in the international markets (i.e., for all locales), including Novell's localized terminology and quality policies, processes etc. This also involves interaction with translation volunteers
and other publishers in the open source community.
 
 
Padraig Dillon - Ireland
Padraig Dillon is the Novell Localization Account Project Manager for the GroupWise product line and is based in Dublin, Ireland.  Padraig joined Novell in 2000 as a Localization Engineer and worked on a number of Novell products including GroupWise, NetWare, Border Manager, eDirectory and Small Business Suite.  In 2004 Padraig moved intoLocalization Project Management with responsibility for the GroupWise product line.  As part of his role Padraig is responsible for the translation and localization of all GroupWise releases at Novell.
 
 
Josef Kastl - Italy
Josef Kastl has been working for about 20 years in the IT Business. He started at Telecom Italia as Software Developer on IBM 370 Mainframes and lather on IBM PC's. In the Year 1988 Josef with other people has founded a Software House. This Software House was one of the first Netware 3.x Installer in South Tirol (Italy) and on 1992 one of the first "Tobit FaxWare" Reseller and Installer in Italy.

John Lincoln - Saudi Arabia
John has been in the It industry since 1967. John has a Bachelor in Computer  Electronics and a Master in Information Network Systems. John has been implementing Novell Networks since 1985. At present is the IT Manager for a large Construction Company in Saudi Arabia and Lebanon having designed a WAN across Country Borders and Desert Projects right among the Camels and Dung. The Camels have Skype GroupWiseR headphones enabling them to keep in touch via P2P Satellite with the management.(HaHa)

Veena Dorairajan - United Arab Emirates

Veena Dorairajan, an Engineering graduate from Iowa state University has been working for Novell MiddleEast as Consultant for the past 4 and a half years. Being part of a very small technical team , she is involved in both support and consulting activities. She has done large GroupWise upgrades and has done large installations of GroupWise in clustered environment. Veena provides technical support for the GroupWise users in the MiddleEast. 

 
Ancel Schouwink - the Netherlands

Ancel Schouwink is the Technical Director (CEO) of OVEC-ICT B.V. / GmbH. She is a Master Certified Novell Instructor with 10 years of experience. She has performed training to Professional System Engineers in the Business- and Educational sectors. She also gives technical presentations and fabricates/writes technical workshops and user guides. One of her specialties is technical implementations of big cluster-networks.

 

 
Anthony Priestman - the Netherlands

Anthony started working for WordPerfect Netherlands in 1989. Working with WP Office which later became Novell GroupWise. Currently he is a Technology Specialist for Workgroup and Resource Management at Novell Netherlands. Anthony is also a frequent speaker for Novell, Novell Congres, GWAVA and many other events.

 

 
Cor van de Merwe - the Netherlands

Cor is very involved with GroupWise and other Novell products, he's quite often very busy with PDA synchronzation. Cor is one of the partners of Clarify.

 

 
Erno de Korte - the Netherlands

Erno de Korte has been supporting GroupWise since it was still called WordPerfect Office; as a MCNE and MCNI he has been delivering training and consultancy on GroupWise throughout the world. He has been working closely with Novell for quite some time, for example by delivering "Train-the-trainer" sessions on GroupWise 5.x and 6.0. He has been a speaker at many conferences, including BrainShare USA, Europe and Africa and during GroupWise Summits in the USA and Europe. Erno is the President of the GroupWise User Group Nederland and coordinator for GroupWiseR, an initiative to connect all GroupWise enthusiasts around the world.

Gert ter Burg - the Netherlands
Gert is a GroupWise enthusiast since knowing the product when it was version 4.1. He works as a messaging and OS support engineer for Capgemini Outsourcing Europe. Runs a GroupWise only website GWCheck.com, for all things GroupWise. Is a member of the NGW List and a beta tester for GroupWise. Works with Novell products since 1989. His favorite game is Snipes. One of the four GUG-NL vice presidents.
 
Gemma de Koning - the Netherlands
Gemma joined Novell 9 years ago in 1996 and currently manages the GroupWise and ZENworks technical support teams in EMEA, as well as being responsible for driving the services campaigns team. During her time at Novell, Gemma has held various different customer-facing and management roles, including Service Account Manager for the Netherlands, Regional Service Manager for Region North - managing the services business and responsible for the support delivery to large enterprise accounts - and Project Manager.
 
Jan-Arie Snijders - the Netherlands
Jan-Arie has been working for Novell at the Novell GroupWise Support Centre for EMEA since 2004 and he is currently delivering frontline support for GroupWise.
 
Jan-Willem van Dam - the Netherlands
Jan-Willem has worked several years for Novell (Düsseldorf, Amsterdam and Capelle). At Novell he built up the Customer Service, supported the (SMB) partners in sales and marketing to be succesfull and was responsible for lead generation. After that he built a platform for GroupWise partners at a value-add distributor of Novell. Specialized in Lead Generation and Telemarketing he now works for Vendere as international Business Development Manager. Now based in Germany he is still actively involved to promote and selling GroupWise and third party solutions into Europe.

Kees Stravers - the Netherlands

Kees is a system administrator for a school in The Netherlands. He has been working with networks since 1986 and with Netware since 1991. He has been maintaining a GroupWise system for many years and is always keen to share his discoveries and notes with others.

 

 
Roel van Bueren - the Netherlands
Roel van Bueren is working as a senior consultant and trainer for ROVABU NetWorks. ROVABU NetWorks' main focus is desktop and application management, desktop imaging, software packaging, .NET development and e-mail/groupware. Roel has been a speaker for several events like Brainshare, GWAVAcon, the GroupWise Summit and the Packaging Event. As an author, recently he has written five articles on Novell's new flagship 'ZENworks Configuration Management'. Regarding Novell, Roel is 'very much in love', for a very long time, with two specific products: GroupWise and ZENworks. In the Netherlands his company ROVABU NetWorks is 'ENGL integration partner' and 'Advansys' Formativ Custom Development Partner'.
 
Mark Beermann - the Netherlands
Mark has a background in messaging and mobile data and has been involved with product and business management of mobile devices at Philips, business consultancy at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and involved in several internet start-ups on mobile services. The last couple of years he is active as interim and business development manager and independent telecom consultant.
 
In 2003 Mark has started the Messaging Architects in the Netherlands.
 
 
Marko Elderson - the Netherlands
Marko Elderson has been a GroupWise enthousiast for the past 10 years. Since 1999 Marko is one of the leading technical consultants of Netflex and received his Novell Certified Engineer status some years ago.
 
Marko's specialism is designing and implementing GroupWise for a whole different range of customers in the Benelux. With his focus on Groupwise and a whole range of third party products, Marko is able to offer the customer a all-in-one GroupWise concept including Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam and PDA synchronisation. In the future Marko will keep supporting GroupWise by leveraging his knowledge to the growing GroupWise community.
 
Rob Lentjes - the Netherlands
These last few years Rob has been working as Network Engineer primarily with Groupwise, Novell 6.5, Linux and Windows systems. Before his current job he worked for 4 years as IT project-leader. In total Rob has spend more than 14 years in IT, during which he became CNE and CNA for Novell and MCSA for Microsoft. Rob is very all-round and likes this type of work a lot. His hobbies are fitness, swimming, airbrushing, computers and networks. Rob spends part of his private time as Content Manager for the GUG-NL.
 
 
Rob van Kooten
Rob works at Novell since 1991 ( Wordperfect at the time) and only supports on WP Office and GWise. He delivers ATT training, makes PAT visits and onsites. He has been a speaker at events like the Novell Summit in Sweden. He's currently delivering World Wide Support for GroupWise.
 
Ronald de Zwart - the Netherlands

Ruud has been working with Groupwise since 2000, he's a MCNE, Groupwise CNE and CLP. He has experience with Groupwise migrations and upgrades on NetWare and Linux and special interest in PDA's connecting to Groupwise.

Sander van Vugt - the Netherlands
Sander van Vugt is involved in Linux since 1993. He has written several books on Linux, both in Dutch and in English. Sander is an expert in clustering as well: het presented on Novell Clustering Services together with Rob Bastiaansen on BrainShare 2006 and did a presentation on Linux Heartbeat Clustering at LinuxWorld Boston as well. Adam entered IT in early 80's, at the beginning he used TRS-80 and compatibles and soon started to work with PC and this same period got into contact with NetWare 2.0a. After reading about the CNE certification in a newspaper he wanted to pass all tests to get the certification. Unfortunately the training and tests were very expensive at that time. A few years later things changed, as in 1991 Novell organized a big 2 day testing session in Poland. After passing 8 tests he finally got certified as both CNE and CNI.

Cobus Burgers - South Africa
Cobus Burgers has been involved with GroupWise support since 1992 in the days of WordPerfect Office. With 14 years of experience on GroupWise he's still going strong and he has been involved with most GroupWise deployments in South Africa. 
 
Today he runs his own consultancy company that specialises in large scale GroupWise deployment and support, including custom build GroupWise document management solutions. Johan van Zyl - South Africa
Johan started his programming career in his first year at University in 2002 while doing his Bachelors in Information Technology. After completing his degree in 2005, he enrolled for his Masters degree in Information Technology at the University of Pretoria. Johan is actively involved in GroupWise development and has led the NetCB developer team in completing a comprehensive GroupWise and Documentum DMS integration.  He has since been leading the project on GroupWise DMS SOAP development on the Linux desktop.
 
Arturo Aguilar - Spain
Arturo is a Language Specialist within the Corporate Localization team in Novell's Globalization Services.  He has been with Novell since 1993 and after spending some years in Provo, Utah and Dublin, Ireland, he is now based in Madrid, Spain.  In this time, Arturo has worked on many GroupWise versions and all Novell's product localization.  Along with Marlyse Eyike, Arturo is an expert in all things linguistic and is a joint custodian of Novell's language quality and improvement.  He manages terminology and quality for all locales and products butbackground-specifically, is Novell's expert for the European and Latin American Spanish markets.

Anders Agren - Sweden

Anders Gustafsson - Sweden
Anders, a Novell Support Connection Volunteer (NSCV) SysOp since 1998, is a consultant working for a small consulting company in Scandinavia. After passing the matriculation examination in 1978 at Ålands Lyceum, he received a B.Sc. (eng) from Tekniska Läroverket i Helsingfors, Finland 1983. He became the ninth Finnish CNE in 1992, and is currently a CNE6. He became a Compaq ASE in 1996. In July 1999, he was awarded the title Eur. Ing. from FEANI.
  
Anders founded the company "Rox" in 1984, together with Peter Granholm. In 1996, Rox had 6 full-time employees, and a turnover of approximately 1.5 million pounds (10 million FIM), and was the only Novell Gold Reseller in the Åland area. Jan Michanek - Sweden
Jan has worked with GroupWise since it was Wordperfect Office. He entered the digital domain as a child when given a VT100 terminal and TI-59 programmable calculator by his father. That lead to an education as an Electronics & Computer Engineer.
  
Working for government, other private companies and later in his own companies Jan has worked with networks and security issues since the middle of the eighties. Jan has many varying IT-projects behind him and has for many years worked with support and maintaining GroupWise installations foe various clients. He has also held several educations for his customers GroupWise users. Due to his vast expertise and long perspective he works much with helping companies get a good ROI for their IT investments. This is done by much by bringing different frameworks such as ITIL and project models in to place for the organisation at hand. Many people recognize him as a fairly known face at many Novell related gatherings over the years.
 
Tim Kjell - Sweden
Tim started working with Groupwise for the IT-Unit of Stockholms Educational Department at 15 years of age.  
Now he works mostly with design and photographing when he's not studying, and entered GroupWiseR when he won the GroupWiseR Wallpaper Competition in 2005, during the release of GW 7.0 Sequoia.
 
The prize money went to tsunami relief in the Asian country, Sri Lanka. A while after arriving back in Sweden, he gave GroupWiseR a nice update of how the trip had went, and also uploaded a couple of pictures, you have a look at this page.
 
Tim is now a GroupWiseR supporter and a living proof that GroupWiseR is THE forum for Groupwise enthusiasts.

Andy is responsible for the development of the UK GroupWise PDA market. He manages the exclusive distribution of the Nexic Palm and Pocket PC products for Europe and the UK. He is also responsible for the Footnote reseller chain worldwide and manages the partnerships with Beginfinite, SurfControl, Caminosoft and PalmOne.
 
He occasionally speaks at the UK GroupWise User Group meetings.
 
Chris Jukes - United Kingdom
Chris Jukes has been working with GroupWise since WordPerfect Office; as a consultant for 3i plc Chris was instrumental in the introduction of GroupWise throughout it's offices worldwide. He founded Toffa International limited in 1996 and built what is today a leading provider of synchronization technology for GroupWise, Toffa is the only synchronization solution built on open standards and delivering desk-based and over-the-air solutions to a vast array of mobile devices in one server based solution.

Chris is Senior Network Officer at Manchester Metropolitan University. He is also the GUG-UK webmaster, and spends any spare time he has left watching his hometown football team, Wigan Athletic, storming the English Premiership!
 
Chris's experience of GroupWise is from versions 5.5 through to 7.0, which is running on a Novell Cluster at the University. Chris is also a big advocate of Novell NetMail, which is used to provide e-mail and calendaring for MMU's 35,000 students. Chris is a Master CNE and Microsoft MCSE, and is studying for the new Novell CLP qualification.

Dave is the network manager for a small engineering company based in Warwickshire in the UK. In his ample free time, he has been known to put together the occasional program to help him manage their in house GroupWise system. Knows a bit about GroupWise as he's been working with it since the Word Perfect Office days. Also handles the other Novell products such as ZENworks and BorderManager, as well as NetWare since version 2.2. Also been one of the Support Forum Sysops since 1995. Tends to specialize on the DMS side as he actually does believe it is one of the better parts of the entire GroupWise package, and that it is sorely underestimated both by most sites using GroupWise, and even in a lot of cases by Novell themselves.

Business Union are a messaging, archiving and security specialist that have been working with IntelliReach & BMS Biometrics through 2004 to create a European channel. IntelliReach have been developing applications for GroupWise since 1999 and currently offer MessageArchive, Control and MessageScreen all specifically designed for the GroupWise messaging system. BMS Biometrics develop authentication systems that are both token and Biometrics based, the system is integrated with Netware, and is being used in GroupWise accounts today. Robin is based in the UK and has been working with GroupWise and its predecessors for over 20 years. He joined WordPerfect in 1987 and came to Novell with the merger of the two companies in 1994. Alex Evans has been with Novell for over 8 years, starting his career in the European Support Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.  After 6 years supporting European GroupWise customers he moved to Provo, Utah, continuing in his role as a GroupWise Support Engineer and accepting the additional role of Development Liaison, working very closely with the GroupWise development team.  Alex worked briefly as a PSE for 4 of Novell's larger customers before becoming a GroupWise Product Manager.
