GroupWiseR supports Viafrica and here's another reason why.
Further
investment in our network Contacts
in the Kilimanjaro Region
Viafrica
extended its network in the Kilimanjaro Region. Finding possible
partners, sharing experiences, starting to work (maybe) with
government schools. We currently talk to the District Office who is
looking for possibilities to fund the service-contracts for the
public schools in Moshi. Also, we know several partners in youth, ICT
or local businesses working in the area (in October 2006 we were
present at an IT-seminar, organised by the business A&A with our
own stand). The Dioceses of Moshi also know Viafrica and
offered their support. Viafrica was also present at the last
Kilimanjaro headmaster meeting where more than 250 schools were
present.

Contacts
on a national level
The
ICT-community in Moshi is rather small, but in Dar es Salaam (and to
a lesser extent Arusha) one can find much more initiatives. Last year
also contacts have been established with universities of Dar es
Salaam and several training institutes. Also the Ministry of
Education was very interested in the CLASSworks project. These
contacts will be deepened in 2007.
Contacts
across the border
The
network in Kenya is still small, but growing. Of course we are in
touch with Nairobits, who also introduced to us two of our current
CLASSworks employees in Kisii. However, we will invest more. Other
contacts throughtout Africa are located in Senegal and Zambia, where
other parties showed interest in the concept of CLASSworks. For the
sake of donor funding we will also invest in our network of donors in
Africa and further donor communication.
