As there are more than 380 sessions to choose from, we've created an overview of all 54 sessions which are somehow connected to GroupWise or Teaming+Conferencing. You can use this list to more easily select your favorite subjects or speakers and create your own voting list.

Title: Novell GroupWise Solutions

Abstract: This session will provide a forum for attendees to ask questions about their GroupWise systems and have a panel of experts provide answers. Several experts will be available to drill into attendee's GroupWise systems and provide Best Practice solutions.
 

Title: Integrate Novell GroupWise with CRM and ERP Systems

Abstract: Companies are looking to integrate critical business processes and information in a more tightly integrated manner with GroupWise. Attend this session to learn how to connect third-party databases and external applications to GroupWise system and user calendars, tasks, address books and mailboxes and how user and system calendars, address books and distribution lists can be populated by HR and other line of business applications and external sources. Omni and Novell will present a number of case studies that highlight how customers have used Riva to deliver highly secure, scalable CRM integration for GroupWise. One particular case study will review how Hautes Etudes Commerciales is benefitting from integrating GroupWise to SugarCRM. The session will cover the key deployment, user management and technical considerations of integrating third-party applications with GroupWise.
 

Title: How NOT to Migrate Novell GroupWise to Linux

Abstract: Follow along and learn about common mistakes made when migrating GroupWise from NetWare to Linux. Learn from real-world examples and experience about the missteps and consequences made by staff and management alike. Participants will learn about Linux configurations and options, data preparation and project planning. This session will provide attendees with the information needed to help ensure a successful GroupWise migration project.
 

Title: Using FreePascal to Access Novell GroupWise via SOAP
Proposed Speaker(s): Johan Kotze
Abstract: Access to GroupWise via the Simple Object Access protocol (SOAP) has been available since GroupWise 7. Example code exists for a number of languages, but no code exists for pascal. This session will demonstrate how to use the FreePascal compiler and tools to create a simple cross platform library that provides access to GroupWise via the SOAP interface. The session will cover the creation of a simple command line client for GroupWise.
 

Title: Novell GroupWise SOAP for the Rest of Us

Abstract: Using the GroupWise SOAP API with the supplied WSDL and schema files is quite hard with programming languages that don't support WSDL natively. As one result, the GroupWise SOAP API for Delphi/Free Pascal was created. This module encapsulates the communication with the server and the encoding and decoding of the XML-requests. The interface to the application program is quite simple and easy to use. With Free Pascal, applications are portable bedween Windows and Linux and even NetWare. This session shows the internal architecture of the unit and the use of it in sample applications. Attendees should have some knowledge about Groupwise API programming. The session will also dive in some of the do's and don'ts using the SOAP API, that have been found during development and testing.
 

Title: Synchronizing Novell GroupWise Data with Additional Workgroup Systems

Abstract: Nearly all mid- to large-size organizations have realized that different groups will work better with specialized tools, from customer relationship management to mobile communications, but getting each tool to work with the next has been a constant IT challenge. Streamlined development of identity management connectors has improved the headache of user authentication across systems, but the seamless synchronization of a user's data across systems is a relatively fresh challenge. This session will give an overview for developing a solution to this challenge. Using SOAP in conjunction with other technologies, the solution would be able to update independent workgroup systems with GroupWise user data and items in an efficient, centralized manner that would allow for easy management and configuration. Multiple techniques for implementation will be explored, with an analysis of each. Code examples will be given in Python and PHP, with mentions of how a Java-based solution might differ. Security concerns will be explored with each technique and language in addition to performance impacts and ease of development. The session will conclude with a discussion of what implementations would offer the highest network efficiency and lowest load on the GroupWise server.

Title: Integrating Novell GroupWise Into a Cisco IP Telephony Solution for Unified Messaging

Abstract: With the growing executive awareness of unified communication solutions, companies like Microsoft have been making a strong play to encourage companies to switch email platforms in order to leverage the benefits of unified messaging with voice messages and email seamlessly integrated into a single in-box. Abstract: In the last years, there was an explosive growth of e-mails, some of us reached the level of more than 100 e-mails per day. How to cope with the vast amount of mails? Received mails, unhandled mails? Is there a way to deal with this in an efficient way? How did it evolve so far? In the beginning e-mail was just a simple tool deployed in the organization. Over time, e-mail became more important and finaly it became business critical. Abstract: This session will give a practical guide, with tips and tricks, to the co-existence of GroupWise with Microsoft Exchange using the tools that Novell provides. This session will demonstrate accomplishing 8 different tasks on the NetWare platform, relative to GroupWise, and show how to accomplish these same tasks on the Linux platform.

We will also demonstrate how the upcoming GroupWise Bonsai release will add even more features - Google map integration, birthday into calendar, send contact details, multiple phone numbers and an exciting new interface.
